Teal is the New Orange this Halloween

Halloween is getting bigger and bigger every year in the UK with more trick or treaters hitting our streets. A time to create memories where the whole family can get dressed up, play games and visit their neighbours. It really does build a great sense of community!

At Bangers and Balls we cater for all and know that between 5%-8% of children in the UK have food allergies or food intolerances. It could be that they can't eat nuts or they are intolerant to dairy or gluten. We know they will never will miss out on our food but we don't want them to miss the fun of trick or treating with friends. So we are supporting the Teal Pumpkin Project. It was started in the US by Food Allergy Research and Eductional (FARE) to help children with food allergies or other conditions and was first seen in the UK in 2016. We think it is a great idea! All you need to do is have some non-food treats avaliable this Halloween.

How can I get involved?

Paint a pumpkin teal or use a blue pumpkin also known as a Crown Prince. Put it on your doorstep or in your window to show you have non-food treats available. This could be glow sticks, bubbles or what about some Halloween painted rocks! A really simple act that helps to include everyone. To find out more visit Teal Pumpkin Project here.
